Want To Be A Pilot?//

The time is right - based on existing orders for new aircraft, Boeing, Airbus and the industry publication "Flight Training News" predict a requirement for the next 20 years of 97,000 new pilots in Europe alone. An experienced airline pilot will expect to earn an average of £100,000 per year throughout their career.

At AFT, we offer two course options:

  • The Integrated Cadet Programme. This is a 74 week programme beginning with 33 weeks of Ground School, during which the cadet completes 14 JAA subjects including examinations. This is followed by 39 weeks of flying, divided between Aqaba and Coventry. This course is designed for cadets wishing to complete the entire programme in one go.
  • The Modular Cadet Programme. This is a modular programme, allowing cadets to complete their training in phases and in accordance with their time limitations. Cadets begin with a Private Pilot Licence (PPL), after which they have a choice of full-time residential Ground School (33 weeks) or distance learning (up to two years). This is followed by a Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL), an Instrument Rating (IR) and a Multi-Crew Cooperation Course (MCC).

Class sizes are restricted to ensure the optimum student to instructor ratio, with performance and progress monitored continuously throughout training. on graduation.
